Overview
Macedonia Preschool serves approximately 150 children, ages six weeks to five years old. Each day, children learn and interact with other children their own age. We offer a wide variety of educational information that will give them a head start for elementary school. Along with learning their colors, numbers, and ABC’s, they learn all the wonderful stories of Jesus and how much He loves each of us. We, as providers, feel that this learning not only prepares children for a solid education, but it also prepares them for a solid life.
Our Staff
Macedonia Preschool has approximately 40 staff members – both part time and full time – some who have been with us for over 20 years! Staff members are First Aid and CPR (Infant and Child) certified. Six hours of professional development are required each year.

Our Daily Schedule
Our Preschool is open Monday through Friday, 6am to 6pm. Our day includes gross motor play both outside and inside, weather permitting. We focus on Bible learning, age-appropriate academics, and fine motor skills. Our more focused classroom time and group academic time is typically in the morning.
School-Age Programs
​Our Summer Program is a lot of fun and very busy. The kids get to go on two or three field trips each week, do arts and crafts and develop spiritually. Here they begin to work on memorization of scripture and how they can apply God’s truths to their everyday life at home and at school.
General Information
Our state-of-the-art facility currently enrolls 149 children from the ages of 6 weeks through second grade. We follow all state laws and are inspected annually by the Health Department, the Fire Marshall, and the Division of Family Services. We are located at 1920 W. Oxford, directly south of Macedonia Baptist Church’s main church building in Springfield, MO. Meet Our Director!

Julie West took over as our daycare director in July 2018. Julie has earned degrees in early childhood education, gifted education, and certifications in junior high and high school counseling. She previously served in the Miller School District as a teacher and counselor. Julie, her husband Tyson, and their kids Alex and Sydney have been here at MBC since 2010, and she has served in many capacities, including our preschool ministry.
